Cairo — The Egyptian authorities have postponed their plans to disperse two sit-ins in Cairo by supporters of the country’s ousted president, officials say.

The authorities expected that the announcement to disperse them would refrain them from continuing protest, a Cairo security official said.

But it was exactly the opposite reaction that happened. The number of people at the sites is even increasing.

Ousted President Mohammed Morsi’s detention has been extended by 15 days by a judge.
